When I was a kid, I was really lazy and wouldn’t tie my shoes. In middle school, the other kids in the class started to make fun of me for always having untied shoes. So I lied to them and told them that I didn’t know how to tie my shoes because my parents didn’t love me enough to teach me. I even started to cry, for added drama. They felt so bad for me, that I got people to tie my shoes for me until the 8th grade.
